Academic Grants: Realize Your Academic Intentions!

In his book Maugham once pointed out that there were so many writers and unwritten masterpieces. Do you have remarkable academic ideas? Why do you keep mum and do not realize your academic intentions. Make your masterpiece “written”! If there is only some lack in finance that prevents you from implementing your research, you can stop worrying and start preparing your proposal and application for an academic grant.

What is an academic grant?

Many organizations give grants to researchers who can implement the promising research which can improve human lives. Thus, there are many grants in various fields: health care, education, science, etc. The grant itself is the monetary assistance aimed at research implementation. Some grants can cover only research costs, some grants can even cover additional courses fees, accommodation charges and travelling costs. Sometimes the whole sum is paid once (usually for research start) and sometimes the whole grant is divided in several parts and is given to grantee gradually.

How to apply?

In fact, to apply to a grant, you, first of all, need to find the appropriate one. There is a lot of information on the Internet. However, you should choose carefully. Make sure that the money will be enough for your research, mind that such grants are limited in time, thus, your research implementation should not exceed one-two years. Some grants can cover only research costs, some grants can even cover additional courses fees, accommodation charges and travelling costs.

After you have found the necessary grant you should fill in all application documentation. Pay special attention to your research proposal: be persuasive and precise, state the research relevance and prove the importance of your research results, calculate your budget (be realistic but modest).

Well, in fact, there is nothing difficult. You only need to wait and you will receive the grant.
